Paper Crafts July/August 2012 issue

Hi everyone,

*** Please follow me and enter my giveaway here*** :)

I'm back!!! :) We finished up school in our household last week and have been spending time together...picking strawberries, hanging out with friends, and swimming. We're getting the summer off to a GREAT start! Today we went to Toronto to the Ontario Science Centre since our family pass for our local Children's Museum gets us free entrance. We had so much fun. Love how doing this kind of stuff together as a family really fills my 'bucket'. *sigh* :)

Anyways, I thought I'd better pop in and share something in case you all thought I wasn't going to stick around my new place. ;) So how about a card I have published in the latest issue of Paper Crafts magazine?

Here it is, one of three cards I had picked up for the summer shaped cards section:

I die cut the popsicle base twice and the smaller front piece once using the Silhouette. I then inked up one of the popcicles with Distress Inks, stamped the stick portion with Hero Arts Woodgrain stamp, and tied twine around it. I then inked up the smaller piece and covered it with Glossy Accents before adhering to the card front. I stamped the sentiment on a strip of cardstock and made a banner out of it before adhering it to the popcicle. Finally, I scored the top of the additional popcicle diecut and adhered my card front to it to create a functional card. Oh, and here's a tip: cut the bottom of the popcicle flat so that the card will stand up straight. ;)

Thanks for stopping by!

How cute is this!! It's dripping with summer sweetness. Congrats on the new pub Sarah.

Ontario Science Center is a great place to spend the day with the children, actually a day is not quite enough to see everything, don't you agree?
